The Darkest Day was a 2011 special project initiated by WTOP National Security Correspondent JJ Green, to recognize and honor the 10-year anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Four National Security Interns spread throughout the country contributed to the final product, exploring the event's lasting impact, implications and significance a decade later.
