Medill Newsmakers

As part of a TV News Producing and Performance course at Medill, I pitched, produced and anchored a half-hour public affairs show, to air on Medill Newsmakers and Chicago Access Network Television (CAN-TV). During pre-production, I created a rundown in ENPS, conducted research and pre-interviews, and wrote the show. The magazine-style program includes interviews with guests in-studio and on Skype, video packages and post-production editing techniques.

When attempting to enter the job market in the United States today, Millennials are confronted with new obstacles. Generational differences and other factors have forced this young adult demographic to adapt to the changing workforce – but not without struggle. On this edition of Medill Newsmakers, Sara Gilgore talks to Gen-Y expert Christine Hassler, Young Invincibles Midwest Director Eve Rips, and Northwestern University graduate student Mike Murphy to discuss this phenomenon and share their perspectives on the current landscape.
